Hubei Library Lecture Series
September's educaltural lecture,

the Phrase".
This time we will
look at how many strange English phrases
participants will remember, let alone
understand and be able to explain to us in
either English... or Chinese .
Do bring your favorites for our enjoyment.
"Find the Phrase" will cover
famous sayings verbalizez throughout history,
recent history, as well as proverbs, idioms,
and just average sayings that have, maybe still
do, influence people's behaviour.

This month's lecture is titled

"Laughter".
Laughter is the most ancient form of expression and communication. Some believe that laughter was used as a way for humans to relate to one another... as early as a million yeas ago. Laughter is so ingrained in our brains that even children born blind and deaf have the ability to laugh… as
early as 17 days old.
